- "On June 22 [2013], Peter Fenty was consecrated as suffragan bishop for the diocese of Toronto at the Cathedral Church of St. James in downtown Toronto. He is the first bishop of African descent in the Anglican Church of Canada. Fenty was ordained in his native Barbados in 1975 and came to Canada in 1992, serving parishes in Montreal and Brampton, Ont. He has served as the archdeacon of York and the executive officer in the diocese of Toronto since 2004". [Text of entire article.]
