- Notes
- "Through the years, many of you have seen my advertisements in 'The Journal'. This month, as part of the Anglican Church of Canada's leave-a-legacy focus, I want to share with you a more personal reflection on my time as National Gift Planning Officer. For sixteen years I have witnessed and been uplifted by countless acts of generosity. Time and again I have met people of varying means who, by the grace of God and with loving hearts, have given cheerfully to strengthen the Church's ability to fulfill God's mission well into the future. I have seen the difference it makes when people choose to live in a spirit of generosity and how easily we can overcome a spirit of poverty with a deep and profound belief that God will provide and that the Church does not need to be defined by a perception of scarcity". "I invite you to take part in the Anglican Church of Canada's 'Legacy Gifts Identification Initiative'. This year, a number of dioceses have united in a special initiative that will invite people to declare whether or not they have made an enduring gift to the Church. Knowing about people's plans helps Church leaders to chart a more responsible course for the future, but more importantly, the sharing and declaring will help the whole Church by inspiring others to leave a legacy gift as well".
