- Notes
- Ron and Dorothy Thicke are Volunteers in Mission from the Diocese of New Westminster living in Kongwe [i.e. Kongwa], Tanzania. They describe life in their local community (including the death of a two year old boy after being bitten by a rabid dog), the students and college where they are working and Tanzania in general. "Pray for peace in Tanzania. Our elections here were even less conclusive that the Quebec referendum, mainly due to the fact that there were too few ballots. Many who turned out to vote (including some of our teachers here and our night watchmen) were told by 1 p.m. 'Sorry, no more ballots' and so were unable to vote. Give thanks that the voting was relatively peaceful."
