- Notes
- The Personal Emergencies Fund was set up by then Archbishop of Canterbury, Donald Coggan, in 1981 for "bishops, clergy, lay workers and their families, of the Anglican Communion world wide who are facing urgent and critical medical needs". The Fund is financed by donations and has had a great increase in applications over the last two years. While they have not yet had to say no because of lack of funds, that they are "facing a decline of donations as well as the low returns of investments. It is because of this that we make this appeal to those who enjoy the advantages of available medical treatment to assist our Anglican brothers and sisters around the world".
