The Cathedral of the Isles, in the diocese of Argyll and the Isles, of the Scottish Episcopal Church, has just completed a 1.7 million pounds sterling restoration project which included "upgrading the adjacent 16 room accommodation facility and Retreat Centre, increasing its appeal as a place for spiritual study and reflection as well as a short break or holiday destination." The cathedral is the smallest in the United Kingdom and seats only 70 worshippers. The cathedral "can also boast having one of the largest and most unique Bed and Breakfast facilities in Scotland which has just been awarded a VisitScotland three star rating." The Rt. Rt. Douglas Cameron, Bishop of Argyll and the Isles presided at a special service to mark the completion of the restoration on 13 September 2003.
