The Last Word : Looking to Lambeth

Notes: The author considers the upcoming Lambeth Conference in light of the recent Church of England General Synod and General Convention of the Episcopal Church. "My first thought, as an observer at both these meetings, was `Will Lambeth 1998 end on the same high note of compassion and enthusiasm that both the Synod and Convention accomplished so well ?' There were no winners or losers in debates or in decisions. Rather it was the grace-filled presence of the Holy Spirit, that swooped down upon the assemblies to help order their work and to enliven the faithful for the tasks that Church will face in the third millennium".
