- Notes
- The author reflects on a recent "bureaucratic nightmare" he experienced when dealing with a "great cathedral". "A clergy friend of mine, vicar of a parish in Westminster, when hearing either media report or some devastation about church politics o rconfrontation, always says, 'I think they have lost the plot.' I wonder how many times that I in my ministry, or you in yours, have 'lost the plot'. But what we must be aware that who we are, and what we do, does matter, if indeed we want to have the joy and privilege of labelling a Christian or Anglican or Episcopal. Indeed, we must run our bureaucratic systems in as 'business-like' a way as possible, but once we lose a sense of who we are and under whose name we live then we have lost it in a very big way".
