- The author argues that lay ministry is usually understood as the ministry of lay people within the church but that the "most important and most visible ministry the church offers the world takes place through the presence of Christians at the office, when the seniors' association meets, on the plant floor, at the barber's, in schools or at the hockey rink". "A goal of the School of Lay Ministry is to help Ontario Anglicans deepen their awareness of how their faith relates fully to all of life. Helping Ontario Anglicans develop connections between the faith we profess, the worship we offer and what goes in life from Monday to Friday ...".
