- A consultation between the Anglican Church of Canada, and the Nippon Sei Ko Kai, the Holy Catholic Church of Japan, has recommended that exposure programs, training of professionals, exchange of Volunteers in Mission and theological reflection on justice, peace, environmental and economic issues be developed to strengthen the long standing partnership between the two churches. The eight-day consultation on "New Patterns of Partnership" held in Vancouver this September (1989), stressed that in order to develop these areas of cooperation, emphasis be given to an ecumenical persepctive, the concerns of minorities, and partners in developing countries.
