- These guidelines have been prepared by the General Synod Archives Committee to help archivists in Provincial and Diocesan Synod Archives to formulate an access and restrictions policy, with specific reference to their own situation.
- A slight amendment to Section 4, #1 was made: the word "or" was added between "forever" and "with". This sentence now reads: ie. closed forever or with perpetual approval of the donor required for access.

- That this National Executive Council approve the Access and Restrictions Policy Guidelines for General Synod Archives, as prepared by the Archives Committee, and authorize them to be distributed to all diocesan and provincial archivists.

- That the motion be amended by adding the words "with the exception of section 3.2, which is referred back for further consideration by the Archives Committee in consultation with the Handbook Task Force". CARRIED 27-11-88
- The motion as amended was put:
- That this National Executive Council approve the Access and Restrictions Policy Guidelines for General Synod Archives, as prepared by the Archives Committee, and authorizes them to be distributed to all diocesan/provincial archivists, with the exception of section 3.2 which is referred back for further consideration by the Archives Committee in consultation with the Handbook Task Force.
