- Prologue
- Bishop Kent Clarke sought advice on the question of the status of a priest moving to the Anglican Catholic Church.
- Text of motion
- That the statement of the House of Bishop on page 11 of the November 1978 Minutes be re-affirmed as follows:
- "It was agreed that priests who become associated with the Anglican Church of North America should not be licensed to function in a diocese of the Anglican Church of Canada, but that pastoral support should be provided."
- "It was agreed that those who associate themselves with the Anglican Church of North America are taking an action which changes their relationship to the Anglican Church of Canada, and doors must be left open for restoration. Clergy in the diocese must be informed when licenses are withdrawn. Requests by the Anglican Church of North America for use of parish buildings should be treated in the same way as similar requests by people of other denominations." CARRIED
- Notes
- It was agreed that the General Secretary, in consultation with the Primate, be requested to arrange for further study regarding relinquishment of orders as it relates to such bodies as the Anglican Catholic Church.
