- Resolved, That members of the General Synod in the Eleventh Session assembled, having received the letter of greeting from the Presiding Bishop of the Protestant Episcopal Church of the U.S.A., heartily thank him for his affectionate message of interest and goodwill, and desire to assure him, and our Sister Church through him, that we greatly value the ties which bind us closely together in the common heritage which we share from the past and also in the happy responsibility which we also share of seeking by prayer and service, the extension of the Kingdom of our Saviour Christ in our own day, and in the great countries in which it is our privilege to live and work. We rejoice also in the strength which comes from mutual prayer and thank him for prayers offered on our behalf and assure him that we will not cease to pray for God's blessing upon him, and the Church over which he presides.
