- That this General Synod, having heard of the great need for helping in the restoration of Christian forces in Europe and the preservation of Christian civilization there, and understanding that the Canadian Council of Churches, upon receipt of news and requests from the World Council of Churches, is desirous of launching a special campaign to secure additional funds for this task, hereby pledges the support of the Church of England in Canada in such campaign; further, that we set as an objective for our share in this effort a sum not less than $35,000 it being understood that the appeal is to be made outside of the regular budget appeals of the Church; and that this be remitted to the Committee on Ecumenical Affairs for action.
