- No. 78: Requested the National Executive Council to refer motion (re additional funds for I. & S. to have representative accompany Bishop Dean) to appropriate Committee for consideration and report.
- Bishop Hunt stated that, while approximately $4,000 was mentioned as the amount required, this would only cover travel and incidentals, and that up to $10,000 would be required to include production of a film for the constituency.
- Text of motion
- That this matter be referred to the A.W.M. [Anglican World Mission] Finance Committee for initial consideration; with the request that the committee consult the Department of I. & S. [Information and Stewardship], and in particular the Budget Interpretation Committee; and report back to this Council in November. CARRIED
- Notes
- It was felt strongly that the office of the Anglican Executive Officer should have a more realistic budget, including administration, travel and programme.
- The Primate said he would keep the matter in mind when attending the next meeting of the Lambeth Consultative Body in Jerusalem, though he was not sure that financial matters would be included in the agenda.
