- Prologue
- It was noted that the sum of $4,000 requested for each of the years 1968 and 1969 is to cover the expenses of the Advisory Committee on Postulants for Ordination, of which there is at present only one, in the Province of Rupert's Land. Should other Provinces set up an Advisory Committee, the expenses will be met out of the $4,000 budget. However, the other Provinces are awaiting the results of the Committee in Rupert's Land before deciding to set up similar structures.
- In response to the question of the period at which postulants should appear before the Advisory Committee, the view was expressed that it should be as soon as possible after a Bishop first entertains the request of a man to become a postulant. Such a man would then appear before the Advisory Committee at various intervals during his training.
- Text of motion
- That the National Executive Council request the Budget Committee to make available for the work of the Committee on Theological Education a sum not exceeding $4,000 in 1968 and $4,000 in 1969. CARRIED
