- Three religious denominations are co-operating in radio programming for the first time in the production of a Centennial Year series of in-depth conversations with 13 prominent Canadians.
- "Thirteen for '67," sponsored by the Anglican, Roman Catholic and United Churches, features 30-minute conversations with people who have "helped make Canada tick" in a variety of fields. It probes their successes, concerns and problem areas they see in life as Canadians celebrate their country's 100th birthday.
- Included in the series are Paul Hellyer, national defence minister; Gordon Sinclair, writer, author and broadcaster; Russ Jackson, Ottawa Roughriders quarterback; Adrienne Clarkson, lecturer and television personality; Claude Ryan, publisher-editor of Montreal's Le Devoir and Dr. Stuart E. Rosenberg, rabbi of Toronto's Beth Tzedec Synagogue, largest Jewish congregation in North America.
- "The series is aimed at the country's 65 FM radio stations, but wider distribution to AM stations is being considered," said Rev. Richard Berryman, assistant supervisor of broadcasting for the Anglican Church of Canada, and producer of the series.
- "Thirteen for '67" is the result of several consultations by the broadcasting committees of the respective churches.
- Gratien Gelinas, director general of Comedie-Canadienne; Dr. Jean Vanier, director of a centre for retarded adults; Dr. Healey Willan, "Dean of Canadian Composers" and Alan Clarke, executive director of The Company of Young Canadians, are among others to appear in the series.
