- The Rev. Emery Harris introduced the Rev. Alice Medcof, the Rev. Marya Buckingham and the Rev. Elizabeth Kilbourn. Ms. Medcof presented a brief historical review, and Ms. Buckingham and Ms. Kilbourn added comments and observations.
- The members of the National Executive Council gathered in discussion groups of four to study the question "How can we use the Conscience Clause so that it can become what it was meant to be - a pastoral document designed to prevent hurt, not cause hurt."
- Moved by Rev. J.S. Barton, seconded by Ven. J.A. MacKenzie,
- That this National Executive Council, in co-operation with the House of Bishops, set up a Task Force to review the "Conscience Clause" pertaining to the ordination of women to the priesthood, and report back to the National Executive Council at its November 1982 meeting.

- That the words "operation of the" be inserted, causing the motion to read:
- That this National Executive Council, in co-operation with the House of Bishops, set up a Task Force to review the operation of the "Conscience Clause" pertaining to the ordination of women to the priesthood, and report back to the National Executive Council at its November 1982 meeting.
- The motion as amended was put and CARRIED.
