- Dr. Diane Maynee outlined the membership and mandate of the committee, which had been actioned by the 1986 General Synod in Winnipeg. Two aspects wree addressed:
- 1. The progress for nominations.
- 2. The criteria relevant to nominations.
- It was suggested that perhaps a "computer sort" program could be developed, prior to the General Synod, to 'speed up the process'.
- Text of motion
- That the Organization Committee be requested to prepare appropriate amendments to the Constitution, listed in the Handbook of the General Synod [41 a) i)] as follows:
- "Consideration will also be given to age, gender, order, inclusion of native peoples and continuity of membership. Normally the length of service on a committee will not be more than two terms." CARRIED #37-11-88
