- The referred resolution (see page 74), as revised, was returned: [Revisions are in italics.] [[N.B. In electronic text revisions are within pointed brackets.]]
- That this General Synod, call upon the Government of Canada to pursue changes in foreign policy, defence policy, and social policy that will realize the possibility of a "Peace Dividend" by:
- <1. placing increased emphasis on peacemaking, peacekeeping, conflict resolution, environmental protection, disaster relief, and seach and rescue operations as roles of the Canadian Forces;
- 2. providing training in conflict resolution skills for Canadian Forces personnel as well as personnel from other nations;
- 3. supporting initiatives to develop and provide civilian services of conflict resolution and mediation;
- 4. establishing economic development plans, with community participation, for communities affected by base closures and facing unemployment.>
- The mover and seconder agreed to accept the following further revisions:
- - delete in the third line of the first paragraph and replace with
