- Text of motion
- That the following criteria be approved in the allocations of the use of Anglicans in Mission funds for projects other than North, Overseas and Pensions.
- 1. Each project to be funded must be in keeping with the goals of Anglicans in Mission which are:
- a) to involve all Anglicans in the challenge and opportunities of mission in the '80's.
- b) to equip the Anglican Church of Canada to exercise more fully its ministry and mission.
- 2. Preference will be given to projects which are innovative and experimental.
- 3. Funding usually should be of limited duration.
- 4. Each project should be of benefit to the wider Church.
- 5. Each project must benefit a significant number of people, with the need well documented.
- 6. Each project must have clear goals, a planned schedule of implementation and satisfactory funding.
- 7. Anglicans in Mission must appear to be the most appropriate channel for funding of the proposed project.
- 8. Each project involving work in a diocese must have the approval of the diocesan bishop or in the case of a national project, the approval of the Primate or another Officer of the General Synod.
- 9. Each project must have clear lines of accountability and an accepted process of evaluation and reporting.
- 10. The National Executive Council shall have final responsibility for the allocation of this category of Anglicans in Mission funds. CARRIED
