- Prologue
- The Ven. P.S. Lucas presented the proposed Service of Celebration and Blessing of a Marriage. He stressed that it was not the intention of the Doctrine and Worship Committee to replace the Prayer Book with CALS series, but rather to commend them to the Church for study and experimental use where authorized by Diocesan authority.
- That the service entitled "The Celebration and Blessing of a Marriage" submitted to this General Synod be approved for publication and authorized for use with the permission of the Bishops as an alternative to the service in the Book of Common Prayer entitled "Solemnization of Holy Matrimony".
- Comments from the floor were noted by members of the Doctrine and Worship Committee for consideration and possible inclusion in the text before the Service is printed.
- It was AGREED that Miss Donna Haley be extended the courtesies of the House.
- Text of motion
- That in accordance with the Memorial from the House of Bishops the words "I Do" be replaced by the words "I Will". CARRIED ACT 53
