- The Rev. Canon George Jacobs Low (1836-1906) was educated in England, ordained deacon in 1864 and priest in 1865. He served for over forty years in the dioceses of Ontario and Ottawa. He received an honorary D.D. from University of Queen's College, Kingston, Ont. in the 1880's, a recognition of his work in lecturing there on labour questions. Several of Low's sermons, lectures and essays were published.
- Scope and Content
- Fonds consists of typescript carbon copies of letters to Low, mostly in regard to his writings. A few are from G.M. Grant, principal of Queen's College at the time Low received his honorary D.D.

- Gift from H. Pearson Gundy, librarian, Queen's University, Kingston, Ont. Gundy made the copies at the same time he made them for G.J. Low's daughter, Miss Mildred Low of Ottawa, who requested them after donating a scrapbook containing the original letters to the library.
