- "The churches of the Anglican Communion have a unique relationship to the Jerusalem Archbishopric, and to one another accordingly. This arises from the agreement of nine years' standing that the Archbishop in Jerusalem by supported by every province of our brotherhood. .... the Archbishopric includes nations and regions where complex forces meet, areas of the most significant and delicate social and political frontiers, where the eyes of the whole world turn in a most attentive way. The life of the five diocese of the Archbishopric is equally of very great concern to their companion churches. With all the more reason, then, I have asked Archbishop MacInnes to prepare this paper for us on the present situation and needs of the dioceses to which he ministers. .... The pages that follow, therefore, take us, nation by nation and diocese by diocese, through the wide and varied area of the Archbishopric. The only major work omitted is St. George's College, which is discussed in a separate paper." -- Intro.
