- "Proposed by the Consultation on Common Texts".
- "The publication of 'The Revised Common Lectionary' in 1992 and its earlier edition, `The Common Lectionary' in 1983, both based on the 'Ordo Lectionem Missae' of 1969, provided the ecumenical church with a three-year cycle of readings for Sundays and for many of the special liturgical days that churches hold in common. .... The Consultation on Common Texts (CCT), the ecumenical group that developed both of the lectionaries mentioned above, now presents this new collection of readings for the rest of the days of the week. Designed for daily use, this new lectionary recognizes that, for worshiping communities and individuals, Sunday worship is central to the Christian life. 'Revised Common Lectionary Daily Readings' uses the Sunday readings of the Revised Common Lectionary as its basis, and then provides readings for the weekdays around the Sundays both to prepare for Sunday and to reflect upon it". -- Intro., p. 7.
- Contents: Preface -- Introduction -- Year A -- Year B -- Year C -- Appendix A: Special Days -- Appendix B: Scripture Readings in Biblical Order.
- OTCH Special Note: In the Introduction, section "Use of the options of semicontinuous and complementary series" (p. 9) it says: "Two sets (or series) of readings have been provided in the weeks during the season after Pentecost. During this time in years A, B, and C, two facing pages of readings appear. The page on the left represents the semicontinuous series of Old Testament readings, with a related psalm, where biblical texts are read more or less continuously throughout this season. Some churches choose this series for Sundays". N.B. Anglican Church of Canada uses the "Semicontinuous readings" in McCausland's Order of Divine Service.
