- "All Saints' Day is an important day in the Church Year. It is listed as one of the `principal feasts' of the Church Year (BAS, page 15), and it is one of the few days that has an `octave' (it is celebrated for eight days). Anglicans place a special importance on celebrating this day, and many Anglican churches are dedicated to All Saints. You will find out more about All Saints' Day and the other festivals surrounding it. Hallowe'en and All Souls Day, on Information Sheet #1. In this learning centre, the students will be given general information about saints and martyrs, and some more detailed stories about particular Christian men and women. One of the goals of this material is to help children understand that they, as baptized Christians, are saints, too.", l. 3a.
- Contents: Introduction to the Learning Centres -- Getting Started -- Suggested Resources -- Information Sheets -- Worksheets -- Activity Cards.
- "Children ages 6-12 get to work at their own pace and choose activities that suit their age and learning styles. Each kit provides information sheets for students and teachers, activity cards for a wide variety of activities, reproducible worksheets, and a list of supplementary resources, and shows how to set up a classroom learning centre by making or purchasing a cardboard display triptych. Each learning centre supplements regular curricula with thematic activities for a 2-4 week period. Learning centres are ideal for vacation schools, mid-week programs, and children's groups, as well as church schools". -- back leaf.
