- "The ecumenical sharing of resources is of the essence of the ecumenical movement. It is the sharing among the churches of the fullness of their resources -- the sharing of what they are, not only what they have. The WCC Study on the Ecumenical Sharing of Resources was launched with a World Consultation at Glion, Switzerland, in consultations and working groups held in Africa, Asia, Latin America, Europe and North America during 1979-80. Three coordinators for Africa, Asia and Latin America also engaged in visits and individual consultation. This reflection process was summarized in an international working group which met in Geneva in June 1980, and which prepared the message and recommendations to the churches and worked on this study guide. The Study has been administered by the Commission on Inter-Church Aid, Refugee and World Service on behalf of the Programme Unit on Justice and Service and in cooperation with the Commission on World Mission and Evangelism and other sub-units". -- Foreword.
