- Notes
- "The Article below, on Marriage, Divorce and Annulment and Re-marriage is presented by R.V. Harris, K.C., D.C.L., Chancellor of the Diocese of Nova Scotia and Deputy Prolocutor of General Synod. While not being in any way a formal document of the Church, it bears the weight of one who has acted as the Registrar of the Court for Divorce and Matrimonial Causes for Nova Scotia for eighteen years, and with a background of a wide knowledge of ecclesiastical law. It will be of distinct use to our clergy and others interested. As will be seen, the article deals with the legal and strictly ecclesiastical status of marriage and its related problems today. At a later date we may hope to publish the findings of a committee of General Synod which is considering wider aspects of the whole matter, together with recommendations of General Synod, or statement of other action which it may take". -- Foreword.
