- "We wish to thank Robert Black and R.G.M. Macpherson for the new arms which appear on our cover. The 'Journal of the Canadian Church Historical Society' has had the support of General Synod since its origin nearly forty years ago. While the journal has always had an independent editorial board, we have been proud of this association. It has given us a firm base and sense of purpose as we sought to make Anglican history better known to those who should be interested. The history of the Anglican church is intertwined with the social and political history of this country, and the history of other denominations; this we have tried to reflect in our pages. The arms of the General Synod of the Anglican Church of Canada, granted 29 December 1938, are widely used as the arms of the Anglican Church, and ensigned by a mitre, of the Primate of the Anglican Church of Canada. For more information about these and other church heraldry, contact the Heraldry and Flag Project, General Synod Archives, 600 Jarvis Street, Toronto, Ontario M4Y 2J6". [Text of entire article.]
