"[B]y Paul Reeves Lecture in Church History, S. John's College, Auckland".
"Design by John Coulson".

"The chief calling of people is to live in this exciting and frightening world we were talking about. This is where you serve Christ. The truly religious question is [not] when did I last go to church ? but how must Christians live as second-hand care dealers in Auckland or as housewives in Rahotu ? .... Coming and going is the basic rhythm of the Christian life. It is a going concern which hurls us out into the world and it is the coming together which refers our action and discoveries to God. In the next chapter we shall see that Liturgy, the formal worship in a Church, is part and parcel of this whole process of involvement, listening and action. So understand that when we come up with a new Liturgy in New Zealand, we are not being fashionable or quicker than the Aussies. We are concerning ourselves with the fundamental issues of God, Man and Salvation. It is as simple and as awe-ful as that". -- p. 7.
