It is proposed to establish an ecumenical chapel at London Airport, Heath Row, England, to be known as St. George's Chapel. The British Government has provided the site, substantial gifts have been made to the building costs, and major sums have been received from the churches and airlines in Great Britain. The member churches of the Canadian Council of Churches have been approached to see if they would be prepared to recommend to Air Canada that it makes a donation to this project.
At its recent meeting, the Committee on Ecumenical Affairs approved the resolution, "That the matter be referred to the National Executive Council for its sympathetic consideration."
That the Anglican Church of Canada, through the National Executive Council, cooperate with other churches in Canada in soliciting from Air Canada a donation to this project. CARRIED

"[W]ith a Foreword by the Archbishop of York".
"'What is the Church doing ? Engaging in debate -- on canons, liturgical revision, parson's freehold, relationship with the State, new morality, re-union, and what have you. Talk , talk, talk !' .... But behind the talk there goes on, quietly and more often than not unnoticed by the press and public, the steady work of compassion by which the Church has been characterised ever since it received its commission from its divine Lord. .... The value of this book is that it tells, simply and straightforwardly, the story of how the Church of England is meeting her Lord's challenge in certain spheres. And a wonderful story it is. Work among would-be suicides, the nervously and mentally distressed, alcoholics, victims of vice, prisoners, the mentally feeble, and so on -- it passes before us as we read these chapters in a series of vivid pictures". --Foreword.
