- "The subject of Eugenics is fast becoming of such importance, and attracting so much interest and attention that it is well that church people should be informed of at least the outlines of this science. In the following pages no attempt is made to follow the subject in its more scientific aspects; such would be impossible, and in the space at our command unprofitable. Anyone who is interested in following the theory further may find ample text-books to his hand, the best of which are listed in the Bibliography at the end (p. 3)".

- "The diagnosis of the causes of racial degeneration have already been given with sufficient clearness; the treatment may be once more summarised as follows:-- 1. The segregation of the feeble-minded. 2. A sterner and more effective fight against vice, immorality, alcoholism, disease, over-crowding, unsanitary and unhealthful housing &c. 3. Education, mental and physical. 4. Active, unflinching and untiring support for such important and useful agencies as the Children's Aid Societies. And lastly, what may be deemed as summing up all that has gone before the preaching of that righteousness that exalteth a nation. Has the Church any part to play in this programme ? The question need not be asked, and requires no answer (p. 15)".
