Message as it appears under "Correspondence" Item "2." on page 7 of Minutes: "Also in October 1991, the Diocesan Presidents of Anglican Church Women and Co-ordinators of Women's Concerns in Integrated Dioceses forwarded the following message to the National Executive Council:
`We urge the National Church to continue to respond to the needs of Church Women today. For more than 100 years faithful women have served the church in Parish, Diocesan and National levels.
Upon integration, the National Church and Anglican Women entered into certain agreements. We ask the church to honour these intentions and practices.
We request that any new structures provide access for church women, financial resources and staff assistance.'"
That this NEC thank the Women's Unit for its proposals in support of the Ecumenical Decade of the Churches in Solidarity with Women and asks it to expand on possible courses of action around the aims of the Decade which could be undertaken by the House of Bishops, the Committees, Councils and Boards of the National Church. Anglican Church Women are prepared to hold their annual national presidents' meetings in 1995 regardless of whether they receive national church support.

That the General Synod of the Anglican Church of Canada hereby recognizes, affirms, and supports ANGLICAN CHURCH WOMEN as an integral part of the mission and ministry of the Canadian Church and encourages national, provincial and diocesan decision-making bodies to provide opportunities for their representation and leadership. Mrs. W.G. Waugh spoke about the two resolutions being presented at this time. She referred Synod to the Reports of Anglican Church Women, and highlighted the ways in which their work is to be picked up after integration to ensure the continuance of valid ACW concerns.

"THAT:
1. within the terms of their original purpose, authority for the use of the Anglican Church Women Trust and Reserve Funds be transferred to the Administration and Finance Committee, and
2. the non-operating funds of Anglican Church Women be maintained as separate accounts under the authority and direction of the Administration and Finance Committee, with annual reports of the operation of the funds being made to the National Executive Council.
For the purpose of providing equal opportunity and advancement for full-time women workers in the Anglican Church of Canada as well as to provide for the wider employment of their skills and experience, be it resolved:
That facilities be made available through a Central Registry at national church headquarters to secure and provide the necessary information for the employment and deployment of all full-time women workers in the Anglican Church of Canada; and, that information regarding the Central Registry be widely publicized throughout the Anglican Church of Canada. CARRIED in both Houses.
Whereas this General Synod has heard of the creation of the new College resulting from the integration of Covenant College of the United Church and the Anglican Women's Training College; and
Whereas this General Synod has received a request to establish formal relationships with this new national college;
Therefore be it resolved that:
1. This General Synod endorse the principle of entering into official relationship with the College;
2. the National Executive Council be instructed to appoint the requested number of representatives to the governing body (the number to be designated later);
3. the Executive Director for Program designate staff to be involved in the work and programs of the College for the next two years;
4. the Program Committee consider from time to time the allocation of funds to support various programs of the College;
5. the Program Committee evaluate their program arrangements for report to the National Executive Council and General Synod when it next meets. CARRIED in both Houses.
