The Spanish Reformed Episcopal Church (Iglesia Espanola Reformada Episcopal) is providing chaplaincy arrangements for Expo 92 in Seville and the Olympics in Barcelona. In Barcelona, a chaplaincy under the auspices of the Church of England's Diocese of Gibraltar in Europe will offer assistance.

In a "Circular to partners in the Anglican Communion and the International Ecumenical Community" dated 22 June 1992 Archbishop Desmond Tutu called for South Africa's withdrawal from the Olympic Games unless immediate action is taken to end the violence in South Africa.
