"Compiled by The Rev. James T. Irvine, Warden of Lay Readers of the Diocese of Fredericton".
"Second Printing".
"One year ago today the first of a limited number of mimeographed copies of YOU WILL BEAR WITNESS was put together. Since that time the collection has been distributed throughout Canada and the United States. .... The collection was designed for use, chiefly by Layreaders, of persons serving the Lord in isolated and distant corners of our Church." -- Preface to the Second Printing.
"This collection was undertaken with the hope that men and women active in lay ministry within the Church might be given contemporary material on which to build the preaching moment. These sermons will not doubt have to be adapted for local application and use. No effort has been made to 'edit' the contributions that came in from around the world. Sermons were left intact so that you might gain a sense of the diversity of our Communion." -- Intro.

"The collection of sermons for layreaders, which has been compiled by the Reverend Canon James T. Irvine, warden of layreaders in the diocese of Fredericton, for use by layreaders in the diocese of Fredericton and throughout the church, is a very valuable tool. One of the needs which has always been identified by licensed layreaders is for sermon material, and I am delighted that Canon Irvine has taken the initiative to have this volume compiled, representing the preaching of many bishops of the Anglican Communion throughout the world". -- Foreword.
"The witness here has a unity in the message of the Lord Jesus and the proclamation of that message to peoples of the world. It represents as well the view of the world through episcopal eyes in twenty-five different provinces of our communion in a very brief period of time". -- Intro.
