"Food and health" edition. "One key aspect of PWRDF's new All Mothers and Children Count (AMCC) project is ensuring that pregnant women, nursing mothers, and young children have enough food to eat. This is an important way to improve their health. AMCC is funded in conjunction with the Government of Canada, and is taking place in Burundi, Mozambique, Rwanda and Tanzania. Each country has its own unique needs and approaches to addressing the gaps in nutrition and access to food for pregnant women, mothers, and young children". Article accompanied by colour map of Africa showing all countries.

"The Diocese of Masasi is the implementing partner of PWRDF's All Mothers and Children Count (AMCC) program in Tanzania. Through AMCC, Tanzii has learned how to avoid unplanned pregnancy, and teaches others about SRHR [Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights] so they can have a future full of opportunity. His involvement is helping AMCC reduce the number of adolescents getting pregnant and dropping our of school -- a major challenge in Tanzania. It's one of many ways that the AMCC program us working with youth in rural areas of Burundi, Mozambique, Rwanda and Tanzania, where cultural norms often limit the ability of young people to access health care, especially girls".

"Looking Back with the Primate" issue.
"In 2009, on the occasion of the PWRDF's 50th anniversary, an African Partner Roundtable was held in Nairobi, Kenya with the Primate [Fred Hiltz], members of the Board and volunteers, and representatives from our African partners at the time. Here follows an excerpt from the Primate's closing address: .... 'Partnership is about sharing in the gospel and needs commitment. It is also about good work inspired by God. Essentially, partnership is God's work, we are just agents. I take home with me the wonderful images I have seen here, of all the happy partners and the realized achievements'." Article also includes photo of plaque from health clinic in Tanzania with inscription: "In Gratitude of Archbishop Fred Hiltz for unwavering commitment to the work of PWRDF and the principles of partnership and 'All Mothers and Children Count'."

"Special Edition". "Working with some of the most marginalized people on the continent, PWRDF partners in Africa integrate gender, human rights, peace building, and HIV and AIDS work into their poverty reduction programs. All health programs implemented by partners have a strong HIV and AIDS component. The focus of partners' work is prevention, education and fighting stigma; care through home-based care services or hospices; and support of people affected and infected by AIDS such as orphans, low-income families, and AIDS patients". PWRDF is currently working with partners in Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo, Kenya, Mozambique, South Africa, Sudan and Tanzania.
