Notes
Meeting in Ely, England, in January 1996, the members of MISSIO analyzed the witness of the Decade of Evangelism so far and offered pointers to the way ahead. They also prepared recommendations for ACC 10 in Panama and the 1998 Lambeth Conference."Meanwhile, a complete report of the Decade of Evangelism Mid-Point Review Conference is being prepared; 3,000 copies will be printed and mailed to all participants, as well as to all bishops and seminaries in the Communion." MISSIO's first report to the ACC was entitled "Sing a New Song" and included recommendations urging the churches to show their commitment to vision by giving mission top priority in their budgets; envisioning the Anglican Congress for 2001 as a celebration of mission and evangelism and by working towards the remission of the two-thirds-world debts by the year 2000.
