- Memorial from the Synod of the Diocese of Montreal:
- To the Bishops, Clergy and Laity of the Church of England in Canada in General Synod Assembled:
- The Memorial of the Diocese of Montreal respectfully showeth as follows:
- That the General Synod be memorialized to endorse the principle of a system of one basic diocesan stipend with family and special allowances and that a committee be constituted to explore ways and means and to report.
- And your Memorialists will ever pray.
- As witness the Diocesan Seal and the hand of the Lord Bishop of the Diocese, and the Clerical Secretary of the same.

- That this Synod having heard the discussion on the principle of one basic stipend for the clergy of the Church of England in Canada, requests the Primate to appoint a committee to study this matter and to report to the next General Synod. CARRIED in both Houses.
