- Since the termination of Project North in 1987, further evaluation and consultation between the churches in Canada has led to a new coalition on aboriginal justice concerns. This is the result of discussion between the churches, network groups, and native organizations. It shifts the focus of the former Project North to include justice issues for native people all over Canada and is based upon the church leaders' recent statement: "A New Covenant".

- That this National Executive Council support and participate fully in the new coalition: Project North - Ecumenical Coalition for Aboriginal Justice; and request the Program Committee to appoint two representatives from the Anglican Church of Canada to its Steering Committee. CARRIED #54-11-88

- That NEC note with sorrow:
- 1. the death in December 1994 of Chris Anderson, son of Arthur, after a long period of unconsciousness following a fire, and extend its sympathy and assurance of its prayers to the family;
- 2. the tragic death of the Reverend Ron Armstrong and Canon David Busby, noting Ron's particular ministry in Bequia, St. Vincent, where he founded and operated the Bequia Mission and assisted in many development projects; and noting David's long ministry of service in the Diocese of Toronto, most recently as Rector of Trinity Church, Barrie, and his service as a member of General Synod in 1983, 1986, 1989 and 1992; and extend its sympathy and assurance of its prayers to the surviving families;
- 3. the death of Father Stan Bak, former Director of the Queen of the Apostles Renewal Centre and gracious host to the National Executive Council for several years, and extend its sympathy to the Oblate Fathers and staff at Queen of Apostles. CARRIED #03-03-95
