The author, an Anglican parish priest and member of the Order of St. Luke, an organization which promotes the Church's ministry of healing, describes the weekly healing services he conducts, usually in the context of the Eucharist. "One major change I have been considering of late is to move the laying-on-of hands from after the communion to right after the Confession and Absolution and before the Eucharistic Prayer. I have always been troubled by the redundancy of administering the laying-on-of hands for healing immediately after the Sacrament of Communion which is also for healing ("... preserve they body and soul unto everlasting life", B.C.P., p. 84)."
