The first of these articles, which appeared about two years ago, dealt with my efforts to think of a novel that would serve as a painless introduction to Anglicanism. Thus this installment deals with the Anglican novels suggested by readers in the first of these articles.
Emma Watkins interviews novelist Susan Howatch on her faith, her understanding of God and her novels which frequently deal with Christianity and in general and the Church of England in particular. "Reprinted, in an edited version, from `The Church of England Newspaper', Friday November 21, 1997, with permission."
The editor highlights the "Resources page(s)" which are found in each issue. "In many parts of the Communion we lack proper bookstores and church supply shops. It is our hope that many international publishers and manufacturers will share samples of their materials with us in order that we can tell others what is available". Special mini-review of Susan Howatch's "Absolute Truths" the final entry in her series of six books relating to clerical life in the Church of England. "I think many will agree that Susan Howatch, often seen in Westminster Abbey at Evensong, has crowned her series with this star of the six. One tribute offered by the church was evident when the Archbishop and Mrs. Carey hosted the launch for this book, along with an Anglican Spirituality Series (Mowbrays) with introductions by Susan Howatch, at their London home, Lambeth Palace in May [1994]".

Entitled `The Heartbreaker' the book continues with a rather interesting plot involving Anglican Clergy and a Centre for Healing. Here Bishop Michael Marshall who hosted the book launch eagerly awaits his copy".
