The Diocese of the Arctic will consider at its May 2005 synod whether its employees will be required to approve the Montreal Declaration which is opposed to gay unions.
"The Vancouver Island Regional Correctional Centre (VIRCC) Multi-Faith Chapel has a new fabric art wall hanging by artist Coreen Zerr from Vancouver Island. One inmate commented, 'When I look at it, I see life. I see freedom. It takes me back to mornings on the deck of the crab boat where I worked.' Canon Kevin Arndt, VIRCC chaplain, says 'The fabric art is intended to invite viewers, inmates and staff into a moment of reflection and to refresh the human spirit by its colours, textures and images.' This commissioned piece is 'life-giving and soul-restoring,' says Arndt. It was made possible by a gift from the Sacred Arts Trust (1994) administered by The Anglican Foundation of Canada."
