Advertisement for Resources for Mission Dept. of the Anglican Church of Canada describing the experience of Stephen and Louise and their gift to the church. "One strategy, gaining in popularity ... is to purchase a life insurance policy with a face value equal to the amount contributed to the church and name the children as beneficiaries. The policy proceeds, payable at the death of the parents, replace the asset that has been removed from their estate through a donation". "Stephen and Louise are 'absolutely delighted' that the life insurance strategy enables a wonderful major gift for the work of God through their church, while at the same time grateful for being able to make a significant legacy for their children, as they had always planned. For more information about bequests and other ways of supporting the work of God through the Anglican Church of Canada ... please contact -- Archdeacon John M. Robertson, Senior Gift Planning Officer, Resources for Mission, General Synod of the Anglican Church of Canada".

Advertisement for Resources for Mission Dept. of the Anglican Church of Canada. "Mildred has appreciated the monthly 'Anglican Journal' advertisements and stories about planned giving from the Resources for Mission team at General Synod. She has appreciated the stories of generous, visionary donors over the past 19 years and now wants to be part of this wonderful, caring group in order to make a difference in the life of the church. She is well versed in the charitable gift annuity concept, having heard a presentation in her parish by a regional gift planning consultant, and has decided to make a contribution of $50,000 to General Synod, in return for a monthly annuity guaranteed for life through an insurance company". For more information about gift planning, and ways you can follow Mildred's generous example, please contact: Archdeacon John M. Robertson, Senior Gift Planning Officer, Resources for Mission, General Synod of the Anglican Church of Canada".

Advertisement from Anglican Church of Canada Resources for Mission Dept. "Margaret read with interest our Invitation for 2013 Resources for Mission advertisement in last month's Anglican Journal (page 4). She really had not idea of the breadth of General Synod's ministry and program -- and how essential this work really is. After reading SEEDTIME: Ministry and Mission, she has decided to amend her will to include not only her parish church and diocese, but also General Synod. She is making an undesignated bequest to General Synod, asking that when the time comes the officers decide how best to allocate her gift". "For more information about wills and bequests, and other forms of gift planning, please contact: Archdeacon John M. Robertson, Senior Gift Planning Officer, General Synod of the Anglican Church of Canada".

Advertisement from Anglican Church of Canada Resources for Mission Dept. "The staff of Resources for Mission have prepared a colourful folder -- 'SEEDTIME: Ministry and Mission' -- illustrating many aspects of the ministry and program of General Synod. 1. Young people and their passion for justice; 2. Support for the Anglican Bishop who ministers to the Canadian Forces; 3. Support for the National Indigenous Anglican Bishop; 4. Ongoing healing and reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples; 5. Support to the Northern dioceses -- grouped as the Council of the North; 6. Helping the Primate's Fund provide bicycle ambulances in Burundi' 7. Building bridges through enhanced communion; 8. Enhancing the 'Anglican Journal' as the Church's primary communication tool. If you are interested in considering a generous gift to ensure these vital areas of work continue throughout the coming year and well into the future, please let me know and I will send you a copy of our folder which provides details about our vital ministries and how you can make a significant difference by offering financial support". Advertisement for Planned Giving section of the Anglican Church of Canada Resources for Mission Dept. Story of James, a retired layman, active as a volunteer serving his parish as a warden. "James visited a lawyer friend recently and revised his will. In addition to providing bequests for his grandchildren's education, he has decided to name his parish as a beneficiary as well. In fact, he has decided to provide a tithe, or ten percent, of his estate to his parish church, continuing what he practices every Sunday as a committed tither. He has encouraged his friends to do the same". For more information about gift planning, and the various ways of making a gift for the work of God, please contact: Archdeacon John M. Advertisement from Anglican Church of Canada Resources for Mission Dept. "Paul and Heather, ages 69 and 67, feel passionately about outreach projects and the importance of having a clear sense of mission and purpose for their parish church. After consultation with other parishioners and the wardens, they have agreed to make a significant gift to the church to establish a permanent endowment fund for mission projects. They envisage the fund will allocate most of the interest earned each year to specific projects in the local community and beyond, selected by a small task force of the parish council". "The gift of $10,000 will be paid immediately to their church and invested according to the guidelines prepared by the parish council and their legal counsel. Paul and Heather are delighted they have the capacity and opportunity to make this gift and hope it will generate additional acts of generosity for vitally important ministry".
