That the Report of the Consolidated Trust Fund, with the financial statements attached, and the Auditors' Report, be received. CARRIED
Moved by Chancellor Soward, seconded by Capt. E.T.C. Orde, That this Executive Council of the General Synod of The Anglican Church of Canada expresses its sincere sorrow at the sudden death of Robin Lionel Crombie, who since January 1, 1955 had served the General Synod as its Honorary Treasurer with great ability and faithfulness. For many years Mr. Crombie was a lay member of the Synod of Toronto, serving on its Executive Committee, its Finance and Investment Committees. To the deliberations of these several bodies Mr. Crombie, with his genial and engaging personality, brought singular gifts of sound judgment, devotion and self-sacrificing willingness. When called upon to accept the post of Honorary Treasurer of General Synod, he accepted in a spirit of devotion to his Church which is an example to all of us. During his tenure of office great developments in co-ordinating the financial administration of Church House took place and Mr. Crombie's wide business experience was of inestimable value in bringing about these changes.
We thank God for his life of devotion, service and witness and we extend to Mrs. Crombie and his grandson our deep and warm sympathy in their great sorrow.
The motion was CARRIED and memorial prayers were said by the Primate.
