"The programme for Renewal 1967 provides for a period of worship, approximately half an hour, in the group meetings on Tuesday April 11th [1967], and again on Wednesday April 12th [1967]. On the final day the Service of Holy Communion, as set forth in the Book of Common Prayer, will be in St. James Cathedral. In recognition of the current widespread interest in liturgical renewal and experimental worship, and on the authority of the Diocesan Bishop acting on the resolution of the General Synod of 1965 on this subject, worship resources are found in this booklet as suggestions for the two group worship periods. It is suggested for group consideration that on Tuesday the worship, related to the theme of the day, 'Theological Renewal', may be an adaptation of Evensong or other form of non-liturgical worship .... As the theme for Wednesday is 'Liturgical Renewal', it is suggested that the groups may wish to celebrate the Eucharist in an experimental form. Among the many experimental liturgies presently in use or offered for study in various Churches and countries, the Committee on Devotions for Renewal 1967 has selected three for inclusion in this booklet. They represent liturgical experiment and study in three countries, England, the United States of America and Canada." -- Foreword.
