This book contains only a sample of a constant outpouring of addresses and excludes contributions made in media interviews and newspaper articles. It is not therefore a fully representative cross section of my ministry, but it does show the great variety of issues with which I engage as Archbishop of Canterbury at a time of challenge in the Church and the wider society, both at home and abroad". -- Preface.

"In a move that marked a renewed vision and vigour and renewed enthusiasm and optimism for its work, Affirming Catholicism, a progressive Anglican Catholic organisation in the Anglican Communion, appointed the Rev. Richard Jenkins as its first full time director."
The author describes and evaluates the sixth biennial conference on "Catholic Evangelism" held 19-22 May 2003 in Montreal, Quebec, by the Affirming Anglican Catholicism movement. Speakers included the Rt. Rev. Geralyn Wolf of the Episcopal Diocese of Rhode Island, Ellen Charry, an Anglo-Catholic lay theologian from Princeton and the Rev. Stephen Cottrell from the Church of England. Ellen Charry, "Far from suggesting to us that we give up on the liturgy of the Eucharist for something more `user-friendly' ... urged us to take the Eucharist, the Sacraments, to our world. .... And she urged us to do it in Anglo-Catholic ways, by helping people fall in love through their bodies as well as their minds, not in a moment (like a pop-tart !) but in a life ever responsive to the working of God's grace (like a cucumber getting pickled!)".
Photo with caption. "Canon David Hutt, of Westminster Abbey, assisted by the treasurer of Canterbury Cathedral, Canon Michael Chandler, was the celebrant at the first English Pilgrimage service at Canterbury to mark the Augustine celebrations. This was sponsored by Affirming Catholicism."
"Do Anglican Catholics have anything to day about evangelism, or is that the sole prerogative of Evangelicals ? What is the faith that Catholics have to share, and how do they set about communicating it ? These were the topics that concerned the Third National Affirming Catholicism Conference, whose questions and conclusions are set out in this book." -- back cover.
