On June 22, 2002, a Sacred Circle was held in the Diocese of Rupert's Land as part of the ministry of Healing and Reconciliation. This video features highlights of the historic gathering which included Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people of the Diocese.
Our Journey of Spiritual renewal, was the theme of the Anglican Indigenous Circle held in Lethbridge, Alberta, July 1997. this third national gathering brought together Aboriginal Anglicans and non-aboriginal partners from across the Canadian Anglican Church to discern and raise up God's sacred call to them to covenant together. By sharing and healing our pain we journeyed together to affirm our identity and diversity as Indigenous Anglicans and partners in a movement towards self-determination. This is the vision of the Covenant and calls the Anglican Church of Canada to a shared journey of healing, moving towards wholeness and justice.
A moving record of the historic1988 Native Convocation, when 180 native Canadian Anglicans gathered in Fort Qu'Appelle, Saskatchewan, to share their experience and their dreams as native people and as members of the Anglican Church of Canada. The resulting convocation turned out to be more historic, moving and empowering experience than anyone anticipated.
In August 2000, the fourth national gathering of Aboriginal Anglicans took place in Port Elgin in the Diocese of Huron. Those gathered came from all over Canada to ponder the implications of the Covenant and to plot a course for the Sacred Circle's theme, "Walking a New Vision."
This video chronicles the Gathering and the Journey of Spiritual Renewal that has developed in this community.
