Prologue
The Primate read the text of a "Call" from the House of Bishops as follows:
"CALL" FROM THE HOUSE OF BISHOPS OF THE ANGLICAN CHURCH OF CANADA - ANGLICANS IN MISSION, MAY, 1981
In June, 1980, following a careful presentation and debate, General Synod gave approval to a major fund raising campaign and directed that a feasibility study take place in every diocese,. A major thrust of the programme is to replace the Anglican Appeal for the North and Overseas.
That feasibility study is now complete, and it shows strong support for the programme to be known as Anglicans in Mission.
Full discussion has taken place in the National House of Bishops, and now the National Executive Council has responded to the feasibility study with the decision that the programme should proceed to the detailed planning.
Much of that planning will be done by National Executive Council and the dioceses, and although we are aware that at this point no final decisions have been made at diocesan levels regarding diocesan participation, the Bishops of the Church make the call to every diocese and congregation to examine carefully the Anglicans in Mission proposal and give whole-hearted support to it.
Anglicans in Mission depends on the full involvement of all of us; Bishops, other Clergy and Laity together. We look forward to the future in confidence, faith and hope, and we invite you to share in that future.

TORONTO (May 6, 2004)
Anglican Video, the video production company of the Anglican Church of Canada, will be honoured at the 37th Annual Award Competition of the U.S. International Film and Video Festival.
`Our Church Lives', a 2003 production for the Anglican Appeal which was distributed to parishes across Canada, won a Silver Screen award in the `fund raising' category. The prestigious festival received more than 1,500 submissions from 27 countries. The award will be presented on June 12th at the Directors Guild of America in Los Angeles.
Lisa Barry, senior producer for Anglican Video, said "We are thrilled to be recognized by the U.S. International Film and Video Festival and hope that the award will garner further attention and support for the Anglican Appeal. We would also like to thank all those who came together and worked hard to make the video a success".
Anglican Video is also anticipating new video releases in the next while. `Baptism: A Lifelong Celebration' is a program about baptism in the Anglican faith, produced for use in Anglican parishes across Canada. "We have had so many requests for this resource," said Ms. Barry, "and we are delighted to be able to respond to this need at the parish level". `Michael Peers: Called to be a Leader' is a biography of the recently retired Primate, which includes interviews with Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Governor General Adrienne Clarkson and Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams.
These two videos will be available in June from the Anglican Book Center. (http://www.anglicanbookcentre.com/)
