Presented by the Very Reverend E.B.N. Cochran -- Amendment to Canon XXI, IV, 2 (E).
Text
"That the following words be deleted from Canon XXI, IV, 2 (E):
'if the applicants have committed adultery with each other', so that the entire clause (E) will now read as follows:
'There is good reason for permitting the marriage other than an intention to enter into a mere pro forma marriage to legitimate a child or children'."

Seconded by: Chancellor H.R.S. Ryan
"That Rule of Procedure 18 be suspended". CARRIED
Then the motion amending Canon XXI, IV, 2 (E), was declared CARRIED.
