2. That the General Synod declare that no man in charge of a parish or mission of five years or more in Holy Orders should receive less than the sum of $1,500 per annum with free house.

Permission of the Synod was asked by the Mover to change the wording of this Section as follows:
After the word "declare" substitute the following: "That no man who has been in Holy Orders for five years or more, and who is in charge of a Parish or Mission should received less than a stipend of $1,500 per annum with a free parsonage."
Permission being given, the Motion was put to the Synod and CARRIED in both Houses.
That, commencing January 1st, 1963, all clergy serving in assisted parishes in missionary dioceses in receipt of M.S.C.C. grants, who had been ordained priests prior to January 1st, 1958, shall receive an annual stipend of $3200, plus a free house, and that all other clergy serving in assisted parishes in missionary dioceses shall receive an annual stipend of $3100, plus a free house, for the first five years of their ministry, all regardless of marital status. CARRIED in both Houses.
That, in 1960, all clergy serving in assisted parishes in missionary dioceses in receipt of M.S.C.C. grants, who had been ordained priests prior to January 1st, 1955, shall receive an annual stipend of $3000 plus a free house; and that all other clergy serving in assisted parishes in missionary dioceses shall receive an anuual stipend of $2900, plus a free house, for the first five years of their ministry - all regardless of marital status; and that this provision be reviewable annually.
