- Whereas; The National Executive Council on request of The Pension Committee after careful study approved in February, 1969 certain amendments in the "Regulations" of Canon VIII, in order to clarify situations arising in the affairs of the members, and to assist in the procedures necessary to administer the plan:
- Be it resolved that:
- The 1967 edition of Canon VIII be repealed and replaced by the 1969 edition of Canon VIII, reading as follows:

- The Primate commented on the work of The Beginners and how the members had applied themselves to work that was absolutely exhausting. Ms. Suzanne Lawson, Executive Director of Program, had accepted the major responsibility for the work, and was assisted by Ms. Margaret Shawyer and Ms. Mariana Bell, who also contributed enormously. Countless hours of professional assistance were donated by McKinsey & Co. for a three year period, and the work of Ms. Kathleen McLaughlin was noted. The results were remarkable.

- That this General Synod express its deep appreciation and gratitude to the Primate, members of staff, the Beginners, committee members associated with the Plan, volunteers involved in the consultations, and to McKinsey & Co. for their assistance to us in Preparing the Way; and
